This article provides read as statements for each part of the Promo Optimization Report in Promo Insights. To learn more about the Promo Optimization Report CLICK HERE. Use the Table of Contents to the right of this article to navigate to different sections of the report you wish to analyze. Where indicated, simply input data from your report into the read as statements to quickly analyze the data. The images seen throughout this article provide a visual for understanding the data.


Notes and Definitions

This report can be prompted in many different ways to answer various business questions. In this Read As example, we are analyzing offer types (the selection for the Select Attributes prompt). However, you can use this report to understand which brands brought in the most new buyers on promotion, which seasons are promotions most impactful, compare two different manufacturers at once, and more by selecting different attributes in the Select Attributes Prompt. While you can analyze different attributes with this report, the general understanding of how to analyze and interpret the data of the report remains the same.

  • Select Attributes Prompt Selection = Chart Attribute

  • Breakout Fields* = The different, individual breakouts of the chart attribute.

  • Bars = On Promo Value for the chart attribute Breakout Fields.

    • Green = greater than baseline

    • Blue = less than the baseline

Why would a promotion not increase the attribute past the off promotion baseline? Sometimes, instead of increasing buyers or bringing in new buyers, promotions may cannibalize existing buyers. Learn more about what might be happening with the Promo Shopper Conversion Report HERE

  • Vertical Lines = Off Promo Baseline (an aggregate of all the off promo purchases during the baseline dates)

  • Report Timeframe = Dates chosen in the report prompt, not the dates in the Advanced Options.

  • Baseline Dates = The timeframe for the vertical lines/off promo baseline. This defaults to the same date range as the Report Timeframe.

AVERAGE WEEKLY BUYERS

Average Weekly Buyers* = The average number of weekly buyers of the [FOCUS PRODUCT] at the [FOCUS RETAILER] during the report time frame for on and off promotion buyers.
